You may have accidentally started a bad habit. She may start start going only on walks or afterwards. You want her to go before she goes on a walk, and then if she goes she gets a reward by going on a walk. Otherwise everytime you take her out she won't go because she wants to go for a walk and knows that if she does not go to the bathroom she gets to go for a walk and the only time she will go is on her walks.
Rember if she goes when she is suppose to she is rewarded with lots of praise and as a bonus either gets time outside of the crate to play or gets to go for a walk. If she does not go, it is back in the crate until 10 to 15 minutes when you try again. Depending on how often she goes she would be able to be out of the crate for several hours until it is time to go outside and then if she goes, more playtime and if she does not go she goes into the crate. It might sound confusing but once you figure out how many hours she can hold it or has to go out and how many times a day she needs to go out, it will be easy to train her.
