I bought Lilly Belle when she was 5mos old in January, I noticed she had an area
on her shoulder about the size of a dime and a small place on her tail.
I forgot to mention it when I took her for her first check up. It
wasnt going away so I took her back to the vet in April to have it looked
at. She did the black light test and culture, it was ringworm. I was given
Tresederm drops to put on it daily. After a couple weeks, it didnt seem much
better, so I took her back, I was given another bottle of Tresederm, along
with a shampoo called chlorihexiderm, I bathe her in it twice a week and let
it soak a full ten minutes, then apply a spray condition afterwards(because it
dries their skin), It is much much better, but not gone. I am taking her back
this week. The next step will be an oral medication-I think its called
griseofluvin. I have another dog, who did not get ringworm, No one in
my family got ringworm - and Lilly Belle loves to be held and carried around
constantly. One of my sons did get a place of "something" on his lower
leg-so we put some cream on it-just in case.
