Reason being....it is a term that some breeders, petstores, use to make more $$$$. Yorkies are not an inexpensive breed and not real easy to find. (Unless of course you buy from the internet...then you have no idea where or who they are coming from) So some people use the term "toy" and teacup" making people think that they are getting a smaller yorkie. yorkies are generally a small dog (BIG atttitude! ) I say anyone that invests in any kind of animal should research the breed first...this way when you do talk to a breeder about the breed you are not going into it blind.
Always good to have some knowledge..
