I know feminvstr probably knows a lot more than I do, but they do make a product called lansinoh for breast feeding mothers that you do not need to remove prior to feeding so I don't know why it wouldn't be safe for puppies. It's basically a pure form, hypoallergenic, medical grade of lanolin.
It might be that she is just drying up so they are sucking hard because they are not getting enough. If you were to give her a 24 hour break and this is what is going on most likely she would dry up. There is a product called milkade which increases milk supply. Make sure she is drinking a lot and eating several small meals a day. You can give her chicken broth in her water to increase consumption. |
