Sad Jasmine needs surgery

Hello to all my new Yorkie Lover Friends!!! My name is Michelle, my friends call me Chel... I have had yorkies all my life, I grew up with them at home and have had the blessing of having 4 Yorkie Furbabies of my own. My last yorkie, Tara, lived to be 181/2 and I had to make the wrenching decision to let her go.... It took me a while, but then I was ready to find a new "monster"... after a year, I found my new furbaby... Jasmine, we call her Jazzy, she is absolutely wonderful and just a total delight. She is 10 months old, and weighs 3lbs 1oz.... She recently suffered a fall off my bed, (which I am sick about as I am so cautious of this...) She didnt cry, but immediately was favoring her left hind leg. We rushed her to the vet, X-Rays showed no break, but she has LP... We tried some anti inflammatory medication and did a follow up one week later. At that time, she still did not want to use her leg. I then took her to a orthopedic specialist, and he confirmed what I was fearing... She has a level/Grade 3 LP that needs surgery... I am soo sad, and SO anxious about this surgery. Jazzy also has her 4 baby canine deciduous teeth that are going to be extracted at the same time. I was planning to have this done at any time now as we were really hoping that we could "encourage" them to come out on their own with playing, chewing, etc... You know, avoid that anesthesia if at ALL possible... Now that this has happened to her leg, I know the best thing is to have her teeth done at the same time, but it just seems to be so much for these little ones... I was blessed that with all my other Yorkies, I never ran into LP problems, this is a first for me... I am just a nervous Furbaby mom... Jaz's surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th, She will be having the surgery done by an Orthopedic surgeon that specializes in small animals. She will be in the hospital overnight with 24 hour care, so I know that she will be in good hands, (just not mine... ) I will be counting the hours to pick her up... I am hoping that by the time I get her on Wednesday that she will have fully recovered from the anesthesia... That part always makes me nervous. My new friends, please keep Jazzy & I in your thoughts and prayers.... If anyone has any experience with this, please help a furbaby mommie, feel better... Chel
