We have a Shepherd and a Yorkie. Both are males and the shepherd is fixed but the yorkie isn't. Our shepherd was about a year old when we brought Diesel home. I was also told to get a girl so that things would go smoothly. All of the girls were taken (thank goodness lol ) so we brought home a mall yorkie instead. Shep snapped at him a few times and sniffed at him and followed him all over the house. It was a rough few weeks but things calmed down and now they get along fine. They are actually best buds.We still have to watch them very closely. Diesel is soo little that he can get stepped on or sat on by shep. That is to be expected when it comes to big and little dogs.
