Thanks everyone, she is doing MUCH better. Shes only sneezed a few times today. Our antibiotics are in liquid form so peanut butter on the end of a syringe is working really good, but the hiding it in salami sounds like a good idea too. In answer to your question, she did get the bordetella vaccine 4 days before going to the kennel. She received it intranasally, which is supposed to be faster acting, although not always as strong of a response. They didn't culture her or anything to see exactly what she had, but bordetella is a bacteria so it is actually quite different than a virus, but a virus can produce very similar symptoms. I'm guessing that she did have some type of bacteria since the antibiotics seemed to clear it up and antibiotics are useless against viruses (sorry, that is just the medical student in me coming out). Good Luck to Holly! Im glad to hear that she is clearing up too. I just get so scared about these little pups! I hope that she doesn't have to go to a kennel for a long time. I've almost got all of the tangles cut out and she actually doesn't look that bad because the hair on her back is ok and covering up the patches.
Anyways, thanks again everyone! Happy Memorials Day!
