Defintely check his corners of his mouth. my Gracie had real long hair and one time kept swallowing real hard for awhile and when I took her in she had this wad of hair down her throat that was attached to the side of her mouth. If that's clear I have given my dogs a little piece of bread when I think they might have something stuck in their throa, it helps get it down. If not Iwould get him to the vet.
