Ziggy is 4 months old and teething like mad..will put anything in his mouth! Yesterday he had diarrhea and I read on the forum about giving pumpkin. This morning his BM was back to normal...that pumpkin really works and Ziggy loved it. Being a nervous(neurotic?)new mother I took him to the vet anyway with a stool sample. The vet found what could only be carpet fiber in his BM! He said that carpet fiber could wind around the intestines and really do some damage. He said if you have new carpet it always has a lot of loose fiber to it. Needless to say, I vacuumed the carpet really good when we got back home. Luckily, Ziggy is fine but I wanted to tell everyone to be careful if you have a new puppy and new carpet. Thanks for recommending the pumpkin. The vet said it's actually very good for dogs as well as plain yogurt. I will have to watch Ziggy even closer until he gets over his teething. Guess we didn't have the house as "child proofed" as we thought.
