My husbands step-sister who lives in Florida has a rotty who she rescued (actually I believe she has 2) anyway, one of them is def and does sign language...I have never seen it but my MIL says it is amazing what that dog understands with signs...so ya, why not use verbal and visual! Twice the chance of getting it right!
