We now have a waiting list of 4 families waiting for the next litter!! I bred our two yorkies because I think yorkies make great pets and I wanted to make more yorkies available in our county...

Now I have the opportunity to add an AKC toy poodle to our family and I am considering whether we should breed her and make some yorkie-poos available to people who have been searching for them for months. My biggest concern is about this one poodle in particular -- she is 7 months old and weighs 4 pounds (I don't know how tall she is -- waiting for a call back from my friend). My male yorkie is 3 years old and weighs 7 pounds. I have heard that poodles are not usually compared on a weight basis, but rather height -- my concern is for the little girl poodle's health -- would it be safe to breed her with my male? My friend spoke with a breeder who said that it is safe to breed heavier yorkie males with lighter poodle females because of the conformation differences in the breeds. Obviously I don't want to breed if it will present any kind of health risk for the female to carry the pups to term and deliver them safely.

Thanks for your input!
No offense to you......but, I would NEVER,EVER cross breed a Yorkie and a Poodle. As far as I am concerned, it is a slap in the face to the people who have strived for a quality yorkie....or poodle for that matter.

My opinion.....that is it!
