 How often do you breed?
I have a quick question that I hope some of you breeders can help me with. I don't want to get into breeding or anything I'm just curious, how many litters per year would you let your girls have? The reason for the question is that the breeder I got Lucy from has one female of breeding age. I know her first litter was Oct 04, the second was May 05, a third Dec 05 and the fourth litter is due in June. That seems sort of excessive, I think one litter per year would be better for the dog. Do you let your girls rest in between litters or is this standard practice? |
