Some truly pit-iful statistics: In Los Angeles county, there are six city shelters and
six county shelters. In those 12 shelters, Pit Bull and pit bull mixes are almost half of
all the dogs there. It was said that at least 5 Pit Bulls are brought in every day to
each shelter. That's 60 Pit Bulls a day! Most (contrary to every one's beliefs) are
strays. According to Animal Control records, only about 2 Pit Bulls a week get
adopted, which means that every month, at least 1000 pits DIE IN LOS ANGELES
