The trainer at my puppy class gave me some tips and they have worked wonders...
When Keeley would bite my hand I'd keep my hand in his mouth but spread out my fingers just enough that it wasn't comfortable for him. But in no way hurting him. And I'd say "no bite!" (in a regular voice tone). And I would leave my hand in their for a few seconds.
He learned that when he bites it is uncomfortable for him, and therefore he doesn't do it. It only took a few times for him to learn what no bite means. |
