You can tell the state of dehydration by "pinching" the skin on the shoulder blade. If the skin remains "pinched up" and doesn't spring back to normal the pup is dehydrated. The longer it takes to go back to normal the more dehydrated she is. Are her gums a healthy pink and moist?
If you take the puppy's rectal temperature it should be about 101.5 degrees.
Did you use a wormer especially for puppies under 8 weeks old like pyrantel pamoate for the mom and the puppies? Did you follow the dosage and weigh the puppies? |
