I use sissors. I wait until they are sleeping while I brush them(they love to be brushed), then very carefully sneak the sissors there to trim. I used to use the clippers without getting real close to the skin. (use the guard). My husband would hold them for me. I never wanted to clip real close as I am afraid it will just irritate the skin.
