Pee Wee Martini Is Furless, Has Crooked Nose

PHILADELPHIA -- A little dog with a big name is vying for a national title.

Pee Wee Martini's owner wants him to be named the ugliest dog in the world in a contest in California next month.
In the Fishtown area of Philadelphia Pee Wee is in a league of his own. He is furless, has a crooked nose and a standoff disposition.
Bob Morris remembered the first time he saw him: "I was confused. I thought I just witnessed a horrible accident."
But Kristin Maszkiewicz adores her Chinese-crested, Japanese Chin mix that she paid $1,000 for at a pet shop.
"His face is crooked. His tongue hangs out. He has no teeth on that side. He's actually a sweetheart," Maszkiewicz said.
Pee Wee is adorable enough to pay a visit to Kelly Ripa on the "Live With Regis And Kelly" TV show and to be featured on a Web site where he is a contestant for the "World's Ugliest Dog." Sam, the three-time winner, died last fall.
Pee Wee is known by many of his neighbors in Fishtown, so NBC 10 reporter John Blunt asked them what they thought after showing them a picture.
"Oh, my God. I was fine (before I saw this). Where did you find this?" said Sam Kahuila, after looking at a picture of Pee Wee.
"He needs dentures," said Michelle Ford.
Those people who get to know him love Pee Wee. Great-Grandmother Ann McCool had this to people who would speak ill of her precious Pee Wee.
"They'd never say it to my face," McCool said.
