I couldn't agree more! I have heard so many say that breed standards are only for show dogs...they can breed what they want. Unfortunately, if that were the case it wouldn't take long for a yorkie to be unreccognizable as a Yorkie.
My father went with me to a show once, and we were discussing breeding as we were walking in. He asked me why I wasn't just happy to show the dogs, and not breed anything ever. As he asked that question, we passed a "Yorkie" walking the other direction. I pointed to the dog and quietly asked him what breed he thought that dog was. He answered a WESTIE..LOL I turned to him and said THAT is why. When yorkies start looking like Westies, there's a problem!
