Gina--At the training classes I took they suggested to not give the treat when the get up. Give it to her while she is lying on her side. If she hops up lure her back in to the dead position and reward her, and then everytime you do it then wait a little longer to give her the treat. Soon she'll catch on that she gets the treat while lying and she'll lie there until she gets a treat, or a command to get up. |
lol that is so cute. and yes thats how I got kizzy to lay there, but she lays all way on her back with her paws up and then i put a treat in her mouth while she is on her back. but I dont give the treat until she lays there for a few seconds. so sometimes now she just comes up and throws herself over on her back and lays there with paws up thinking shes gonna get a treat. lol. they are all so cute.
