Do not want to scare anyone but:
Gypsy recently got over it. It was a long struggle and we had to keep Gremlin (my dtr's yorkie pup) away from her. Hard to do in a small mobile home! With Gyps they did a throat wash after the 3 different meds did not work. She had 3 types of bacteria that was causing it and finally the right combo of meds kicked it out.
She is our miracle girl cause the vet was not sure she would survive it. It is a serious disease. The vet said when she was working in Ga, 1 out of every 5 cases died from the resistant strain the had there. It can take months to get rid of some strains.
