My Cali had one floppy ear. I taped it for 3 days and it stood up on its own. A week later, the other flopped, and I repeated it. That time I left it on for 3 days, then off for 2, on again for 3, then off for 2, then on again for 3 and then it was up for good. Some times it takes repeated taping to get the cartilage in the ear to strengthen. There is a link where it shows you how to shave and tape but I never taped both ears at the same time as it was not necessary. I just folded the ear longways (i.e. side to side but not completely touching, although some claim that taping them touching works as well).
I attached a picture showing the ear taped (but it is not a very close up shot). It looks like electrical tape but it is plain masking tape that I used a black marker on before applying. The other pick shows the after. See links below.
