She attacks the brushes too, and I'm sure I should be discouraging her from that , but she has so much fun with it. At least when I have her wrestling with one brush, I can be running another through her hair.
I have always been told by breeders and people who show their dogs to never brush their hair when it is dry, you have to spray it down some. By brushing it when it is dry it causes the hair to break and it is not pretty. I have experienced this firsthand, before I knew about this, I would brush trixie with her hair dry and of course the hair did break and was alot harder to manage. She also has a soft coat(cotton). Now I make sure that I always wet her hair down some before I brush her and you can tell the difference.
