Default How to rid of fleas...

I found fleas on Aggie last night and I freaked out. I started to imagine tiny winy little bugs crawling all over: on her, near her, on the carpet, on my bed. You get the picture. My skin was itching all over.

My first reaction was to get either Frontline or Advantage. After talking to my mom, we had a different strategy.

I found a new bar of soap (a small sample of Dove) and bathed Aggie with it. She stood there while I rubbed the soap on her to create foams. Don't rinse. Then, I took the flea comb, a regular plastic one, and start combing her with it. You have to be careful, comb slowly. Soon, the fleas that are "knocked out" by the soap would start appearing. Buttock area is where they like to congregate, make sure you get it. Be patient and comb slowly.

When you don't think there's anymore, rinse. I wrapped and dried her as usual. I combed and checked. Few more dead ones came out. After drying her, I dripped Frontline Plus on the back of her necks. The ones that I wasn't able to get during the bathing will now surely die.

This way you don't have to wait around. I'm planning to repeat the bathing in another 5 days.
