When we were kids...had a vacation cottage on the river...would start going there in April. Now if my mother went we'd spend the entire weekend asking her if we could go swimming.
NO, IT'S TOO COLD. However, if we went with just dear ol' Dad...he'd say yeah, go ahead.....and guess what....it would be

did not ask him
repeatedly to go swimming. I think my mother had a higher whine tolerance.
