With Tootsie I was very lucky...and I don't brush her teeth...my fault for not starting at an early age. In answer to your question.....just have the Vet check the teeth when you see him/her. They will tell you if your baby needs a teeth cleaning. I have heard Yorkies seem to be prone to losing their teeth early and they get a terrible build up of tartar faster than other breeds...hence the check-up to see what is going on. But as I said...I have been very lucky with Tootsie...she has always had great teeth...no problems ever. And yesterday when she had her teeth cleaned the Vet was surprised that all she had was Gingivitis and it was easy to clean up. Tootsie's paperwork stated she was under for about 20 minutes. That's not too bad I guess. You are doing the right thing by brushing the teeth now and helping to keep away the dog breath, bad teeth, etc. BRAVO for you!
