I have also heard this happens alot with hard poo and straining and that all the above helps. I have heard stories of animals that strained to hard that some of the inside tissue does come out!!!! The poor thing! I remember when Mojo was sick for several weeks w/ IV fluid, etc. the vet said to use plain old diaper rash cream on it. We didn't though because it wasn't bad, that was just the "if it gets sore and uncomfortable to him" suggestion. Good luck!
