If you are planning on any surgeries, etc. you could do a dental cleaning at the same time - that way, he wouldn't have to "go under" too often - I always worry about that.
I only brush Mojo's teeth a few times a week. Sometimes it is 4 days a week, sometimes it may only be one or two. My vet checks his teeth every time we go in (which seems like at least once a month or so - I'm a freak). She says they look good and therefore doesn't want to give him gas just for that right now. She will if it comes down to him needing it done, but he is good to go for the time being.
I've never used the doggie breath biscuits, so I don't know if those are good or if they even work or not.
