Default Hi. I am new and full of questions.

Hi. I just acquired a Yorkie. Her name is Gracie and she is 16 weeks old today! My friend Becky works at a Kennel and she called me with a Yorkie that they could not paper because she had an eye ulcer. She had surgery for the eye ulcer and when I took her to the vet he said it was A-OK.

I had been researching Yorkies on the internet and really had decided to get a Cavalier King spaniel instead because everyone said Yorkies were sooo hard to potty train. Well then I got the call and it was at the perfect time since school is out so I can be home with the Yorkie so I said yes! I am so glad I did! She doing very well on housetraining in my opinion. Only a few accidents that were MY fault, not hers. I have been looking more and more on the internet trying to educate myself and I wanted to ask you "seasoned" owners a few questions.

Collar or halter? I found on the internet about the prolapsed tracheas. We just a leash and collar to take her out and she is not being "leash trained" yet.

She has "kennel cough" and they gave me drugs for it. She has 3 more days of drugs but I read somewhere Yorkies cough alot.

Potty training: Once she is trained and can "roam the house" how long do you think is reasonable to except her to go between bathroom breaks?

Thank you so much in advance!
