I meant have the lilacs bloomed in your area. If they have bloomed then it would be ok to prune yours. If they haven't then there is still the possibility yours will bloom...clear as mud? When you plant or transplant flowering bushes and trees...the first couple of years or so...it is busy growing roots and will not bloom.
