Mine are all pretty good for bathing, brushing and nail clipping. I just talk to them. I try not to stop brushing or nail clipping when they want to, but also try to stop when they are being good (even if I may not be finished). It takes patience and time, but it is very much like working with a spoiled child. If they manage to wiggle free than I retrieve them I don't just say oh well I guess you're done. If they think that by escaping or whining you are going to stop then they will continue to do it.

I do bathe in the sink so I have a lot of control.
