Cindy, you need to go to www.YTCA.org and read up on the standard. The first preparation you need to make in buying a puppy is knowing exactly what you need to be looking for. 2. Make sure whatever puppy you buy is bile acid tested against liver shunt, and so are the parents. 3. Don't buy any puppy less than 12 weeks old. Yorkies are not cheap. It takes a LOT Of time, effort, energy and money to successfully raise a litter of puppies, not to mention the quality of the parents, and generations behind them. While you are on the YTCA site, you will find a list of reputible breeders who may have puppies for a Non-Breeding home. After you arm yourself with information, that is a great place to start your search. One peice of advise, don't start your conversation with HOW MUCH..You won't get a good response. Quality, health, and "the look" you are wanting is not cheap, nor can any ole BackYard Breeder produce it.
