We had a Golden Retriever a long long time ago, and I actually think it's tougher upkeeping a big dog than a small one! Hair all over the place, huge dinosaur poops, louder howling and barking, bigger amounts of food. They need frequent walks, etc....

Otis's poop is like a tootsie roll, and for his exercise, I just chase him around the room or give him a kleenex to shred.

There is more fun in dressing small dogs up than a giant dog, and maybe that's why people label Yorkies as "frou-frou."
