Sounds like he's going through a growing stage. He's trying to be the alpha dog and showing dominance. Try ignoring him when he starts acting up or put him in his crate if you have one. He should stop if he doesn't get a reaction out of you.
I think many puppies does this. Jazzie didn't but Jewel did. Just don't encourage it.
