I didn't even put nice bedding in the crate until Hobbs was 100% potty trained. Just put an old white towel in there. Then you will definately be able to tell if she goes to the bathroom in there and you can wash it in hot water with some Clorox. That is what I did, and when Hobbs stopped going potty in his crate, he got a reward by getting a nice, comfy bed to sleep on in his crate!
