I had the same problem with Rowdy a year ago when he was little. I soaked the poop off, washed and dried his rear end and then used the moustach clippers (about 1 inch wide) just like recommended - it worked like a charm. These were really cheap - got them at Walmart I think. I had my hubby hold him up in the air so he was at my eye level. I held up his tail and clipped away. I shaved him bald because I didn't want it to happen again. You will do fine, don't be afraid.
