ghhow to use them in a couple days. Our final housetraining problem was that he would scratch or sit by the door and no one heard him. Before the bells I had to watch him every minute, follow him when he went downstairs, and he spent a lot more time in his crate. Once he figured out bells mean someone coming to let him out, he was totally reliable. He went from 1 accident a week (from about 8 months-1 yr old) to none.
Housetraining was a lot of work just because Yorkies are small, so he had to pee a LOT. We crate trained and that helped, but we'd let him out more thinking he was ready and then he'd have an accident, usually our fault for not watching him. We went through a lot of UTIs and some other medical issues too. Anyway, even with all that he's totally housetrained. We crate him when we're not home, but when we're home he swats at his bells and we let him out! He is telling the truth most of the time too, not just ringing them to go play. Sometimes he will ring them if the neighbor dog is out or my husband is taking out the trash, but if I let him out he will actually pee and then go investigate, but he can't get far on a leash so he just comes back in. He's a good boy
