A lot of people-including myself-get their Yorkies trimmed at 5 or 6 months. my girl had quite a stringy/greasy puppy coat.It tangled easily. When she was groomed, the coat underneath was silky and blonde! No problems with tangles now.Her coat is growing in now steel grey-but still silky. It is good to get them used to being groomed when they are still pups.My groomer is lovely and we will be returning soon for a face and booty trim.

A lot of books say thay Yorkie coats 'blow '-or become adult coats at about 6-8 months and many advise a trim then, otherwise matting can be an issue. Hope this helps!
