I keep mine in long coats year round and living in El Paso 100 degree days are quite the norm here. Of course, mine are inside most of the day and we take walks in the morning and evening.
Long coats require daily brushing, but just a few minutes. I'm really lucky that none of mine tangle or get matts. If yours does, then short is definitely easier on you and them. I just trim the ears, feet, and the stomach on my boy.
I really prefer the way Yorkies look in long coats, but my husband and my girls think they look cuter cut short. So I guess it is all a matter of opinion. |
