HELP!! Crate Training We are crate training Maggie. She is almost 10 weeks old. Husband and I are both retired, so being in the crate for long periods isn't the problem. We take her outside many times a day and right before bedtime. I thought she was sleeping all night. I have been sleeping about 15 feet from her crate. She never says a peep. Wakes up at 5-5:30AM. I take her out and she floods the yard. I have been really impressed. Yesterday afternoon I decided to wash her blankie. It was wet in the corner. Her crate if a very small metal one, with a movable grow wall. I even made a cover for it, so she could sleep in a den like atmosphere. We have the sleeping area in her crate choked down to just enough room for her to stand and turn around. I put a few stuffed animals around the edges for cozy comfort. Last night I got up at 2:30, woke her up to take her outside. She flooded the grass. I put her back in her crate bed. She got up at 5:30 as usual. I checked her blankie and it was wet. Hope I covered it all. Between me being a short order cook for her and now her laundry maid, I'm pooped. So if anybody knows how to get them to eat and also to stop weeing in their crate, I would be very grateful. |
