I have had my 5 yr old furbaby for 8 weeks now. Since I have had her, we have had 2 very quick thunderstorms. Both times, she started shaking and started panting very hard.
I have never had a dog this small, so I don't know if it is something that is common with small dogs, and I have never had a dog that is afraid of thunderstorms.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to help keep her calm?
The two times that it did happen, I just held her and talked to her.
We are supposed to be in our rainy season now, but haven't got much rain as of yet, but we should be getting afternoon thunderstorms on a regular basis any day now.
She is alone in the afternoon for about 3 hours, and I'm really concerned about how she is going to be when she is home alone and a storm comes through.
