I'm in favor of passing the law -- Anyone who wants dogs or cats for pets should have them spayed and neutered.
This law just passed somewhere else also - with the remark that over 19,000 unwanted dogs and cats had been euthanized over the previous four years.
Tatooing and microchipping is the way of the future -- I'm willing to go there.
Keeping adoptable animals for ten days and two weekends - I assume this is in a shelter - I certainly agree with this. And - there is no doubt that spaying and neutering will help keep the shelters from being so full. One main reason so many animals are put to sleep so quickly is because there are no facilities able to house so many unwanted and lost animals.
***** It is always difficult when they put so many rules under the same law. The reason being, of course, that many people agree with part of the rules, but not all of them.
In the end - I would pass the law I'm not sure about some of it - but I agree so strongly with most of it that I would accept the rest.
