As far as the whining at night, I'll tell you what I did. I put a nice soft blankey in the crate with Taz, along with a stuffed animal and a clock that ticks wrapped in an old sock. The ticking reminds them of their litter mates, along with the softness of the animal. Something else, since you won't be getting her for a couple more days, can you bring a blanket or toy over the the breeders house and have it put with the mom and babies? The scent should be soothing for her when you bring her home.
Just warn hubby there will be accidents, but it won't be the end of the world. Pretty soon, he'll be cleaning up after her.
