When Sophie was a puppy...she would do that very same thing alot. I'd also hand feed her. Now that she is a year old...she eats well.
With Sophie, she liked company. So when I feed her..I stay in the kitchen doing dishes or something to keep her company. If I leave...she leaves...lol
She is a little nosey thing..and doesn't want to miss anything.
