My boy DInkey had swollen paw. His was swollen in the center and it made his toes puff out. My Vet put him on antibiotics and some cream I had to rub on his paw several times a day. It took more than a week for it to even START going down. He also has some blood work done and if it didn't go down/get better the Vet was going to do a skin scrapping. We never got to the skin scrapping, but it did take three weeks for his little paw to go down.
It's been perfect since.........Good Luck and keep us posted
