My pup ate nearly a whole (small) bowl of grapes - that I had out for my bird - when he was a pup. But, because I know grapes aren't good for dogs, this hasn't happened again. I can't say that he hasn't had an occasional grape since then because occasionally my bird tosses one out of the cage -- and guess who's there to grab it up!!! I suppose he is getting a grape (or part of a grape) once a week or so....

I am not trying to be argumentative but how do you know an occasional grape won't hurt your pup? It is after all, a toxin. I think we are really going out on a limb here saying that.
Something that does not bother your pup may very well cause damage to someone elses.And you really don't know (if your dog is indeed eating grapes) if you are damaging his kidneys or not.
