Chloe's hair isnt exactly silky but its somewhere in between. It took several months to lose her puppy coat. I use a slicker brush, and a boars hair brush(although mine is made of sythetic boars hair).
The hair that your yorkie is probobly shedding is her puppy coat. You really do need to get all the dead hair out by brushing because thats what gets tangles so easy.
