Just make sure you are using good quality treats, not puperoni or really anything you can buy at petsmart. We use itty bitty buddy biscuits broken in like 4 pieces, bits of kibble, chicken, banana (only once a day, practicing recalls), and I just found some new stinky one called "zukes" mini naturals. Just keep an eye on your dog's weight. And by weight, I really mean how he looks - Loki is a healthy 9-10 pounds, even though he's "big" he's not fat. Loki is very food motivated and will eat too much if I let him. He finishes his dinner if I give him 1/8 or 1/2 a cup, even if it's a training class night. |
