Have you tried contacting some breeders in your area and asking them if they have any retired dogs. Most breeders stop breeding their females at the age of 6 or 7, so they still are relatively young and have a lot of years left.

Also you might put your name on a rescue list, if there is a local Yorkie rescue group. Your animal shelter should have a phone number for them.
