What country did you buy the puppy in? In some countries it's illegal to "dock" or cut the tail shorter. Here in the US, there is a movement in that direction but currently the "breed standard" requires a docked tail for a show dog. Most breeders in this country do it to all litters because it is done within a couple of days of birth and you cannot tell at that point which puppies have show potential.
Did the breeder represent that the puppy would be registered? Did you pay for an AKC registered dog? Pet quality dogs are not always "papered" or resistered because there is no reason to do so if they will not be used for showing or breeding. Did your contract require that you have the dog neutered?
The shot and other health records are the most important papers for a pet. |
