So your puppy is most likely 100% Yorkie or as sure as you can be with an AKC registration. The catch is - Why did the breeder limit registration - was it to limit breeding competition? did the puppy not meet the standard? does the puppy carry a genetic defect? Of course, there are many registered AKC who also do not fit the standard and have genetic defects. I would purchase a APRI registered puppy, but would expect to pay less than an AKC registration for two identical dogs. |
